We put up a bunch of pictures yesterday.
Made other improvements, like an actual trash can instead of a plastic bag on the door handle.
Looks like a real house!
There has also been a gopher or mole tunneling through the backyard. Need to remove him. But I'm sure there are plenty more back in the field.
The apple tree beside the driveway has produced a ton of apples! The deer love them. An Eastern European lady also likes to cook with them so I have given her as many as she wants.
Now we have acorns raining down from the trees.
The next weekend I paddled 34 miles with a college buddy, Ryan. We got to Ely about 3am Friday morning and worked in the Front Porch all day. Went on the water that afternoon and stayed on Birch. Went to Knife and then back to Ensign on Saturday. Ran into Steve Piragis (owner of http://www.piragis.com/) at the base of Thunder Point. Had a great chat with him.
My fourth BWCA weekend was with my brother Andy and friend Patrick. Explored Voyageurs NP on Friday (one Moose Lake entry on Saturday was all that was left) and then headed to Ely. Did about 23 miles over Saturday/Sunday, camping on Disappointment and coming back through Snowbank. Had a nice muddy time on Jitterbug.
Final stats were 10 nights in the backwoods, 150+ miles, and 4 Bucky Burgers!
So I'm clearly about 1.5 months behind on this blog. Going to post several in a row to catch up.

When I cut grass yesterday, I noticed that it was looking a bit tan in some place. This area hasn't gotten much rain lately.
Decided to get up early and water the yard. The previous owners had left a hose and several sprinklers so it was an easy set-up.
Now I want to go play in it.

The work week started with a direct flight over to Boston. Worked in RKG's office there before having dinner with my Co-Chair from UVa's resident staff program. Always great to catch up with her.
Tuesday a team of us drove up to Maine. Reminded me how beautiful the country is there. Would love to find time for a vacation to Acadia NP, Baxter SP, the Allagash, and Freeport. Maybe next summer.
Wednesday and Thursday nights were back in Boston. I was on the 34th floor of the Westin so I had plenty of great views of the Charles River.
Worked in the RKG office this morning before catching a direct flight home to MSP in the afternoon.
